Echo: A Musical Quest

“Echo – A Musical Quest” is a video game musical inspired by the Greek myth of Echo, a mountain nymph who was cursed by Hera to only be able to repeat the last words someone says to her. Our story explores what happens to Echo after she’s been cursed, and follows her as she embarks on a journey to find her voice again.

Players can shape Echo’s journey through their decisions. Depending on the choices they make, unique songs, characters,

and routes will be unlocked.

The Mountain We Call Home

In Greek mythology, nymphs are bound to the domain they reside in. Echo and her sisters live on Mount Cithaeron and sing this daily prayer to keep the mountain alive.

Beautiful

When Echo gets cursed and loses her voice, she can no longer sing to keep her home alive. But without her voice, she's also

no longer tethered to the mountain.

When she leaves Mount Cithaeron, she runs into a half-nymph called "Narcissus", who shares her burden of living with a curse.

Inhale & Exhale

When no one in Greece is willing to help Echo for fear of angering Hera, she seeks help elsewhere. The player can choose different parts of the world for Echo to go to.

'Inhale and Exhale' is a song that only exists in the "Yoruba Route" of the game if the player chooses for Echo to go to Nigeria for help. Here, Echo runs into Aja, an Orisha of the Forest.
